Letter of Recommendation for Turner Contracting & Remodeling:
Bob has served as general contractor for both a family bathroom upgrade and a major six-room addition to our antique home.
It is so easy to recommend Bob Turner as a builder. He is an unusual contractor who works from a solid base of integrity. He has high standards for himself and he holds all of his subcontracted workers to the same standards. This results in setting appropriate expectations, limiting surprises and high quality results.
Bob is a professional as a builder. He listened to our ideas and explained how he could make them work – or not. We always appreciated his willingness to speak up when an idea would have impractical consequences. He offered so many creative ideas, and we were satisfied in every case.
Above all, he is honest and so is his crew. We were always comfortable having these people in our home, whether we were there or not. The job site was left as clean and neat as possible at the end of the day, which lessened the stress on us of living in a construction zone.
We recommend Bob Turner as a highly professional builder without reservation.

Dear Fred and Bob:
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed working with you last year, as you and your crew converted what was essentially a tired-looking camp into an attractive, welcoming cottage. In fact, I know I may be a bit biased here, but in my view (and many others who have been up there and toured with us around the Basin on Sebago Lake), we now have one of the prettiest cottages on the entire lake, where previously it was a bit of an eyesore. Most importantly, we just love being there, and certainly the extensive work you did has contributed to that feeling.
Obviously, we are extremely pleased with the end result of the project. But we were also extremely pleased along the way, from the early-on meetings to discuss what we were looking to get done, to the final finish work. I really appreciated your openness to ideas, and your flexibility along the way. I also appreciated that throughout the entire project, you approached it like it was your own home, always looking to deliver a high quality product, but at the most reasonable price, making sure that we were "keeping it real", as far as striking that perfect balance between quality, functionality, and cost.
There were really two primary aspects of getting the work done: (1) your crew, and (2) the subcontractors…the electrician, the painters, etc. As for your crew, they were always very respectful, and always kept the job site clean and safe. As the general contractor for the project, it was important for you to "be connected". And whether it was your connection/familiarity with the zoning side of it, or having a great bunch of subs, you performed the role of GC as well as I could have hoped for. I could always deal directly with you, while you spent the many hours behind the scenes worrying about the subs, building permits, etc., and as a busy and not so construction-oriented person, that was huge for me.
Fred and Bob, I believe we developed much more than a vendor/customer relationship. I now consider you guys friends, and I am glad that we were able to christen the cottage in the end via the sharing of a beer (or two) on the new upper deck, as we looked out over the lake and reflected on the project, etc. It was no doubt the best experience I have had working with someone "in the trades", and would recommend you to anyone who would listen!
I look forward to working with you on phase two of the cottage project in the fall…the wife's new kitchen!
Hope all is well.
